My journey to being an author
In 2024, my life changed in a way I never imagined. Everything I once knew—the ease, comfort, and sense of control—suddenly shifted. Where there was once freedom, there came fear. Where there was confidence, uncertainty appeared. I found myself retreating from the world, unsure how to breathe through the heaviness or make sense of the storm I was in.
Yet, even in that darkness, Allah did not leave me. Subtle reminders kept appearing in the most gentle and unexpected ways—conversations, verses, duas, moments of stillness—all whispering that this was not my breaking, but my shaping. It was a test from Allah, wrapped in mercy, reminding me that His love is present even in hardship.
That experience transformed me from the inside out. I turned towards Qur’an with a heart that truly needed it. I began reciting more, reflecting more deeply, and learning the beauty of patience. The girl who once worried about everything now finds calm in remembrance. The woman who cherished her sleep now wakes for tahajjud, not out of obligation but out of love, longing, and connection with Al-Jameel. I learnt that tawakkul is not just a word—it is doing what you can, trusting what you cannot control, and handing the rest to Allah with certainty.
Alongside this spiritual transformation, journaling became my safe space. As a qualified domestic abuse advocate and counsellor-in-training, I understood the importance of emotional processing, healing, and having a voice—especially when life becomes overwhelming. Writing helped me breathe again. It helped me heal, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of myself I thought I had lost.
From this, a purpose was born.
I created a nurturing space for anyone aged nine and above to write, reflect, and care for their mental and emotional wellbeing. A space where thoughts are welcomed, emotions are honoured, and hearts feel seen. These journals are for every soul—children, teens, women, anyone navigating life’s chapters—who needs a companion on their journey of growth, healing, faith, and self-discovery.
These journals are more than pages. They are reminders that you are not alone. That your story matters. And that even through hardship, Allah writes beauty into our lives in ways we may not always understand, but eventually come to cherish.
